Kevin Kühnert resigned as SPD Secretary General in October 2024 and announced his withdrawal from politics at the end of the legislative term. Since November 2025, he has led the taxation/distribution/lobbying department at the civic movement Finanzwende. Every two weeks, his column "Teilnehmende Beobachtung" appears on rollingstone.de, in which he comments on social and political developments. The photographs were taken for this column.
